PUBLISH is pleased to announce that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Association of Mongolian Journalists and the Mongolian Website Association to develop a blockchain-based news ecosystem in Mongolia.
The signing ceremony took place on December 5 at offices of the Mongolian Association of Journalists in Ulaanbaatar.
With 23 branches across Mongolia, the Association of Mongolian Journalists is a national network of some 56 news media organizations and 4,000 news media professionals.
The business agreement was jointly conducted by three organizations: PUBLISH (CEO Sonny Kwon), Association of Mongolian Journalists (Chairman Utgeng Batar), and Mongolia Website Association (Chairman Nktaiban Batku).
Under the agreement, the three organizations agreed to support the establishment of a blockchain-based news ecosystem and press credentials.
Commenting on the partnership, PUBLISH CEO Sonny Kwon said, “It is very meaningful to to be part of such a large-scale project that seeks to bring improvements to the Mongolian media sector using blockchain technology.”
“A blockchain-based news ecosystem, such as blockchain-based press credentials and a cryptocurrency-based read-and-earn program will increase the satisfaction of both readers and reporters,” he added.
PUBLISH is building a similar ecosystem in Korea in partnership with the Journalists Association of Korea.
