PUBLISH, in partnership with TokenPost, is pleased to announce the issuance of a new NFT (non-fungible token) for the 78th National Liberation Day of Korea, which commemorates the country's liberation from 35 years of Japanese colonial rule on August 15, 1945.
Known as "광복절" (Gwangbokjeol) in Korean, Liberation Day is recognized as one of five major national holidays in the country, along with March 1st Movement Day, National Foundation Day, Constitution Day, and Hangul Day. The word "광복" (Gwangbok) translates to "restoration of light," symbolizing the nation's return to sovereignty following decades of Japanese oppression.
The day stands as a dual tribute to the Allied defeat of the Japanese during World War II as well as to the relentless efforts of some 140,000 anti-Japanese independence fighters who fought for Korea's freedom.
In the years following liberation, South Korea has undergone immense industrial development, transforming itself from a nation in recovery to a global powerhouse in fields such as technology and culture, with K-pop being a prominent example of its cultural influence.
The "Good Day NFT Campaign" is a joint initiative by PUBLISH and TokenPost, aimed at highlighting significant domestic and international events and holidays through the issuance and distribution of commemorative NFTs and digital artwork.
