PUBLISH, in partnership with TokenPost, is pleased to announce the issuance of a new NFT (non-fungible token) to mark International Taekwondo Day.

Observed annually on September 4th, International Taekwondo Day was established by World Taekwondo (WT), the sport’s governing body, in 1994 when the International Olympic Committee officially adopted taekwondo as an official Olympic sport.

Originating in Korea and enjoyed worldwide, WT boasts a global membership from 213 countries and approximately 200 million practitioners.

Before its recognition as an official Olympic sport, taekwondo was first showcased as a demonstration sport at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. It made its debut as an official Olympic sport at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and has maintained its official status ever since.

Additionally, at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, Taekwondo was introduced as an official sport for the first time, with South Korea securing a bronze medal.

To celebrate Taekwondo Day, the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) is hosting the 2023 Taekwondo Day Commemoration Ceremony in collaboration with World Taekwondo, Kukkiwon, Korea Taekwondo Association, and the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation. Moreover, the 2023 Taekwondo International Convergence Conference will be held in Muju County, North Jeolla Province.

The "Good Day NFT Campaign" is a joint initiative by PUBLISH and TokenPost, aimed at highlighting significant domestic and international events and holidays through the issuance and distribution of commemorative NFTs and digital artwork.
