PUBLISH, in partnership with TokenPost, is pleased to announce the issuance of a new NFT (non-fungible token) to promote the 1st Hometown Love Day.
Established in January 2023 under the Hometown Love Donation Act, Hometown Love Day is designed to foster a culture of donating to local governments and to revitalize local economies.
September 4th was chosen by way of a public vote as it coincides with the Chuseok holidays, during which time Koreans often visit their hometowns to see relatives.
Inspiration for the donation system comes from a similar program in Japan known as the Hometown Tax Program (ふるさと納税). Introduced in 2008 for individuals, the program was later extended to businesses in 2016.
Currently, Japan collects about 8 trillion won annually through the program.
Under the Hometown Love donation system, individuals can donate up to 5 million won each year to a city, county, or district outside their primary residence.
Donors can claim a 100% tax deduction for donations up to 100,000 won and a 16.5% deduction for amounts exceeding that. In addition, they can receive 30% of the donation amount in points, which can be redeemed for gifts, such as local specialties, tourism services, and gift vouchers.

The "Good Day NFT Campaign" is a joint initiative by PUBLISH and TokenPost, aimed at highlighting significant domestic and international events and holidays through the issuance and distribution of commemorative NFTs and digital artwork.
