PUBLISH, in partnership with TokenPost, is pleased to announce the issuance of a new Good Day NFT (non-fungible token) to mark Social Welfare Day, the fourth such NFT to be issued in September.

Social Welfare Day marks the enactment of the National Basic Living Security Act on 1 October 1999. The day seeks to promote awareness of social welfare benefits in Korea and to applaud the efforts of social welfare workers.

The National Basic Living Security Act was enacted to help alleviate poverty, which surged as a result of increased unemployment in 1997 due to the foreign exchange crisis.

In July 2015, the act was amended to pave the way for a customized welfare system that provides support for medical care, housing, and education based on individual household circumstances.
